Over the years, Loreto has respectfully cared for its beautiful heritage buildings, and completed a number of new developments to ensure our College has wonderful resources and facilities to support student learning. Our dedicated capital works plan will see this development continue into the future.
Opened in 2010, the Performing Arts Centre is a modern, dynamic hub of activity - complete with a professional theatre, foyer, mirrored dance room and a workshop for set construction.
Four purpose-built and modern houses make up our boarding precinct and are designed with space, privacy and communal living in mind. As well as a variety of accommodation and leisure areas suited to each age group, each girl has her own, private room.
The Mary Gonzaga Barry Arts Centre combines several creative spaces including a walk-through gallery. The light, bright art rooms are framed by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a leafy courtyard and the historic converted horse stable, which functions as a private workshop for Year 12 Visual Art students.
Directly accessible from the Junior Primary classrooms, the Outdoor Learning Area provides a sheltered outdoor space for investigative, play-based learning. Hard and soft spaces, including a shallow creek, blend seamlessly to provide a unique space.
Our Gymnasium houses two expansive indoor playing courts. A weights and cardio room fitted with an array of exercise equipment and resistance machines overlooks the gym. This space enhances students' Physical Education classes and provides for a range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including our highly successful Rowing program.
St Gertrude’s tailor-made and creative music areas include a keyboard laboratory, recording spaces, private practice rooms and musical instrument libraries.
In early 2015, during the College's 110th Anniversary year, the Mary Ward Courtyard and garden on the Senior Campus were revitalised, creating a new hub for students. The courtyard was landscaped with peaceful seating areas for students and visitors.
The Acacias was built in 1874 and is a heritage-listed gem used by staff and the College community. The Acacias features a Heritage Gallery which houses a collection of Loreto historical memorabilia.
The Chapel is a jewel in our historic Acacias crown. It is a sacred space, used for student and staff liturgies as well as by our College community for weddings, Baptisms and memorial services.
The Loreto Health Care Centre is staffed by a Registered Nurse who provides a high standard of professional nursing care to day students, boarding students and staff during school hours.
