Frequently Asked Questions
How many buses does Loreto College operate?
Loreto College currently operates buses to Mawson Lakes, the Adelaide Hills and the western suburbs. All our bus routes are determined by the level of demand from a particular region.
What if my daughter doesn’t get to the bus on time?
The College keeps its bus driving staff informed of absences. Our bus drivers will not leave a designated pick up location if your daughter is not there. We will contact you via your specified phone numbers to see where your daughter is.
The bus will not leave the school premises until all students are on the bus. If your daughter is running late, we will make an announcement over the College’s PA system and will also attempt to make contact with your daughter via mobile phone.
Does the bus pick up/drop off my daughter from our house or a pre-arranged place?
Our buses generally travel along main and major arterial roads so pick up and drop off is from pre-arranged drop off points along the bus route.
What are the buses like?
Our buses are new, 33 or 43 seat coaches fitted with seatbelts.
Is there an age requirement for girls to catch the bus?
No. We have students from Reception to Year 12 catching our buses.
Can my daughter catch the bus on a casual basis?
Our bookings tend to be permanent spots for a year. Casual bookings are possible but are subject to availability. We encourage you to make a permanent booking to ensure your daughter is able to get on the bus. Priority for permanent placements is given to families from distant locations.
How much does it cost and how will I be billed?
Our bus services costs approximately $1.10 per trip – significantly cheaper than public transport. The cost for the bus is invoiced directly to school fee accounts so your daughter will not have to pay cash fare for each trip. Permanent placements will be charged in advance for the full year, casual use will be charged at the end of each school Term.
