It is with great pleasure that we, the Loreto Family in Western Australia, extend a warm welcome to the Loreto Family near and far to attend the 28th Loreto Federation Conference in Perth in May 2012.

After much consideration the theme chosen is

“Striding Out In Freedom and Love”

The ‘strides’ for each of us will be different according to circumstance, however the choice to do so may be shared by all. The ‘how’ we stride takes on further meaning, which encompasses our personal motivation, feeling and understanding.

Our speakers will be inspirational and challenging. There will be the opportunity for reflection and discussion with the aim of stimulating ongoing thought and action.

To quote from Mother Gonzaga Barry, the founder of Loreto in Australia and formulator of Loreto Federation, “we federate so as to share in all the good things done by each”. Let this be our intention.

The programme has been designed to encourage us to the greater engagement and understanding for the betterment of all. In the spirit of Mary Ward we consider those who planned and attended the previous 27 Loreto Federations, the initial being in 1955 in Melbourne.

“May we remember the past with gratitude”, “Recognise the present with appreciation” and “Look forward to the future with hope”.
