Notebook Program Years 9-10
Notebook Programme
Years 9 and 10
Our Years 9 and 10 Notebook Programme is designed to assist us in realising our belief that technology at our fingertips makes learning anytime and anywhere a greater reality.
In essence students are loaned a notebook for the year, taking it to school and home again each day. When students complete Year 10 their notebooks will be returned to the College and given to the upcoming Year 9 students for the following year. Students moving from Year 9 to Year 10 would need to bring their machines back to school at the end of the year, to be returned for use in the school holidays, in order to have software updates installed. The devices would also be checked for any damage at this point in time.
Each student is given a booklet that outlines the expectations and addresses any frequently asked questions regarding the use of the notebook that will be allocated to them as part of our Years 9 and 10 Notebook Programme. A link to that booklet is below. Please take the time to read this and if there are any concerns, contact either Ann-Maree Tippins at school by email: ann-maree.tippins@loreto.sa.edu.au or Darren Schutz at darren.schutz@loreto.sa.edu.au .
With the booklet, there is an accompanying Notebook Agreement that students are asked to read, sign and return before the notebook is allocated. This is an agreement that confirms that the students and their parents / caregivers have read and understood their responsibilities. The agreement must also be signed by parents or caregivers. The agreement includes a commitment to care for the notebook appropriately, take the notebook home each day and bring it back to school the next day, fully charged.
There is also a Notebook Incident Form that is included in the booklet that must be completed and brought to the IT Department at school if the notebook has been either accidently or maliciously damaged or stolen.
The notebook represents an effort to expand learning beyond the boundaries and schedule of school, so it's important they are used at home. Using the notebook at home will also help to include your family in your daughter's education.
The staff at the College are working together to ensure that this programme can be as successful as possible and we assure you that we will do our best to meet everyone’s needs.
