Infirmary

The Loreto Infirmary is located on the Junior campus and is open during school hours. It is a well equipped and comfortable health centre.

The Registered School Nurse provides a high standard of first aid, primary health care, health promotion and illness prevention to the entire Loreto College community. This includes day students, boarding students, staff, visitors and volunteers.

The School Nurse cares for the physical, psychological and emotional health and well being of each student. Day students who are unwell are assessed by the school nurse and if necessary, students may go home once details are arranged with parents. Boarding students who are unwell are cared for in the Infirmary during school hours. Appointments for boarders with various medical, dental and other practitioners are arranged and transport organised through the Infirmary.

Students with specific health needs are monitored and specific health care plans are adopted and implemented when need arises.

The Infirmary is responsible for checking and supplying first aid equipment throughout the College and for excursions, retreats and camps. There are a couple of camps that the School Nurse attends, one of these being the remote Year 11 Flinders Ranges Camp.
