Uniform

Loreto Marryatville enjoys a wonderful reputation within the wider community. This reputation is, in part, the result of generations of Loreto students who have had a strong and loyal affiliation with the school. All students are asked to accept the responsibility of carrying forward the good name of the school by being someone who wears the uniform well and who acts with dignity.

The uniform is also a symbolic reminder that Loreto is one community and that important goals and dreams are shared. Wearing the uniform is one of the ways the College proclaims that being dignified does matter and that there is an acceptance of the challenge to be women who will make a difference to society.

A crisper, cleaner winter uniform design for Loreto has been selected to be phased in over a three year period commencing 2010. The new design offers a fresh style and increased functionality. It brings many advantages including improved fabrics and comfort.

The blazer is a compulsory part of the College Uniform. Blazers must be worn on all formal occasions; for example excursions, performances and formal assemblies.

Summer Uniform

Terms 1 & 4

• Tunic (worn to the knee)
• White blouse
• Blazer
• Jumper and/or vest
• Black school shoes
• Saxe blue tights or saxe blue socks
• Hair ribbon
• Blue scarf (and black gloves may be worn)

The wearing of the College Blazer is compulsory on all formal occasions and when travelling to and from school.

• Saxe blue and gold polo top
• Saxe blue rugby shorts
• Loreto gold or white socks or Loreto white anklet socks
• Sports shoes (predominantly white and/or blue with white laces) (NB canvas shoes not permitted)
• Saxe blue pleated skirt with matching briefs
• Saxe blue rugby top or fleece jacket
• Saxe blue bike pants
• LC baseball cap
• Saxe blue track suit pants
• Saxe blue track suit jacket

• Hair, shoulder length or longer should be tied back
• Hair should not be dyed in extremes of colour
• Hair is not worn or cut to extremes in style
• Students do not wear nail polish to school
• No make-up should be worn when in school uniform

The following jewellery only may be worn

• one small sleeper or stud in each ear lobe
• religious medals
• medi-alert bracelets
• wrist watch

Facial piercings are not allowed, including clear studs. This includes tongue piercings.
