Loreto College Marryatville Named a 5-Star Best School for Second Consecutive Year

Loreto College Marryatville has once again been recognised among Australia’s leading schools, earning a place in The Educator’s 5-Star Best Schools 2026 report for the second consecutive year.

The national recognition acknowledges schools that demonstrate excellence across a range of measures, including student wellbeing, academic outcomes, innovation, leadership opportunities, community engagement, and future-focused learning.

Loreto College Marryatville Principal, Ms Kylie McCullah, said the recognition reflects Loreto College’s commitment to developing confident, capable and compassionate young women through a truly holistic educational experience.

“To be recognised as a 5-Star Best School for a second consecutive year is a wonderful affirmation of our community’s commitment to educating the whole person,” Ms McCullah said. “At Loreto College Marryatville, academic achievement is important, but it is only one part of a young person’s journey. We are equally focused on wellbeing, leadership, character formation, service and preparing girls to navigate a rapidly changing world with confidence and integrity.”

Central to this approach is the College’s Social, Emotional and Academic Development (SEAD) Program, which supports students from Early Learning to Year 12 through structured wellbeing, academic and personal development lessons and opportunities. Embedded within the school’s culture, SEAD helps students build emotional resilience, positive relationships, academic confidence, digital responsibility and self-awareness, ensuring they are equipped to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

The recognition also comes during a period of significant momentum for Loreto College Marryatville. Recent initiatives have included strengthening digital literacy and responsible AI education and commencing work on a long-term Master Plan to guide the future development of the campus.

This year, Loreto College also celebrated national recognition for its teaching excellence, with Junior School teacher Sarah Shaw named a Rising Star by The Educator for her evidence-based approach to literacy and learning.

Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a broad co-curricular program spanning sport, music, performing arts, debating, STEM and social justice initiatives, providing opportunities to discover passions, develop leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
