Class of 2020 SACE results

We congratulate:

College Dux, Sarah L, who achieved an ATAR of 99.85, including four A+ Subject Merits signifying exceptional achievement, plus an additional three A+ results, and a perfect score in Chemistry.

Kate M, who achieved an ATAR of 99.45, including three A+ Subject Merits. Kate was also the recipient of the Governor of South Australia Commendation Excellence Award.

Madeleine F, who achieved an ATAR of 99.10, including three A+ results.

Some further statistics:

  • 61% of all Year 12 grades were As
  • 5% achieved an ATAR of 99 or above, placing them in the top 1% of the State
  • 12% achieved an ATAR of 98 or above, placing them in the top 2% of the State
  • 15% achieved an ATAR of 97 or above, placing them in the top 3% of the State
  • 18% achieved an ATAR of 95 or above, placing them in the top 5% of the State
  • 40% achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10% of the State
  • 58% of girls achieved an ATAR of 85  or above, placing them in the top 15% of the State

100% of Year 12 students successfully achieved SACE completion.

Additionally, 100% of the results achieved by students in Year 11 who accelerated their studies were in the A Grade range, with 25% achieving an A+ Grade including one A+ Subject Merit.

Congratulations to all students in our Year 12 cohort on their hard work and dedication throughout 2020. We wish them the very best for their future endeavours and accomplishments.

History Award Winners

Engaging girls to participate in various competitions is aligned with both our College strategic objectives, as well as our vision and mission as a school of raising confident and articulate young women. The participation in competitions teaches skills in independent learning and critical thinking, while simultaneously developing the confidence to take risks. The competitions have also been an important way of developing girls’ love of the humanities.

In 2020, Loreto College students won the following awards:

da Vinci Decathlon

Congratulations to the eight Year 7 students who participated in the da Vinci Decathlon in Term 2 where they faced challenges in the following categories:

  • Engineering, Mathematics, and Chess
  • Code Breaking
  • Art and Poetry
  • Science
  • English
  • Ideation
  • Creative Producers
  • Cartography
  • General Knowledge

Out of 23 schools competing, Loreto girls won first place in English and Creative Producers.
