The College Board of Directors is proud to administer Loreto College. All Directors are passionate about Loreto College and the way we have shaped, and continue to shape, women of today and tomorrow.

The Board is appointed by the Province Leader for terms of three years. The Directors represent a broad mix of skills; some are former students, some are current or past parents, and others are independent of the College.

Farewell to a Decade of Leadership: Honouring Peter Hoban

In December 2024, we bid farewell to Peter Hoban, the outgoing Chair of the Loreto College Board. Peter’s unwavering dedication, selfless service, and exceptional leadership over the past 10 years have left an enduring legacy within our community.

Peter is a former Partner of Wallmans Lawyers, where he practised for 36 years. Peter served as Chair of Partners for two years before retirement. He was a member of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal from 2009 to 2012. He is also a Board Member of the Hutt Street Centre. Peter is the father of Sarah (1986 to 1998), Alice (1987 to 2000) and Edward (1990 to 1992).


Samantha Hellams

Board Chair – BA, LLB, GCLP, MBA, GAICD, FGLF

A Loreto old scholar, Sam is the CEO of a South Australian disability services provider, having worked for a number of years as a senior executive in the not-for-profit, private and public sectors across community services, law, agribusiness and high-risk industries (mining, oil and gas and energy). She has also served as a board member for over 20 years including with St John Ambulance SA, Bedford, Phoenix Society, Volunteering SA & NT among others.  She is currently Chair of Siblings Australia, Board Member of Can:Do Group and a member of the University of Adelaide Council’s Risk Committee.

Sam brings experience in strategic planning, risk management, corporate governance and business improvement as well as HR, organisational development, culture and change management, stakeholder engagement and marketing. Her commercial focus is supported by strong values-based leadership, and she is a firm believer in innovation and collaboration.


Jacki Done

Board Deputy Chair – GAICD, CAHRI

With an extensive career in senior leadership roles in Organisational Development, HR, Learning & Development, Change Management, WHS and Business Improvement across local and state government and the private sector, Jacki brings a well-rounded skill-set to people leadership, strategic planning, business performance improvement, and driving change to deliver business results in complex, multi-divisional organisations.

Jacki is an independent member of the Board, who is passionate about lifelong learning and career development.


Mike Francis

BEc (Hons)

Mike has extensive management consulting and marketing experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. He has worked for international, national, and local companies in the oil industry, retail, energy, manufacturing, and professional sporting clubs. Currently, Mike manages the relationships and fundraising units at the Hutt Street Centre, a work of the Daughters of Charity.


Michael Smith

AFP®, LRS®, FChFP, DFP, GradDipFinPlan

As the Managing Partner of a large financial services firm, Michael brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership and governance to the board of Loreto College. With a robust background in financial management, Michael has successfully navigated complex regulatory environments as the Responsible Manager of an Australian Financial Services License.

In addition to his professional role, Michael serves on multiple boards, including as Chair of several, demonstrating a proven track record in board governance and strategic oversight. Michael’s commitment to education is further evidenced by his role as a Tutor at the University of South Australia, where he has the opportunity to mentor the next generation of industry professionals.

Michael is also actively involved in various industry advisory groups, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the financial services sector education and government. His strategic focus and governance expertise are complemented by a deep personal connection to Loreto College, as a parent of current and former students.

Dedicated to serving the interests of the college, Michael is committed to fostering an environment that supports academic excellence and holistic development for all students. Michael’s vision for the board includes enhancing strategic initiatives, ensuring robust governance frameworks, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.


Sr Rachel McLoughlin ibvm

Ba App Sc Physio, MAPA, GradDip SpDirection, MTheol Studies

Rachel is a Loreto Sister and Old Scholar of the College (1975-1987). She is a Physiotherapist working as a volunteer at Cabrini Asylum Seeker and Refugee Health Hub in Brunswick Melbourne. She also works as a Spiritual Director, giver of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius, supervisor of ministry, and Chaplain. Rachel works in the area of spiritual and leadership formation with a focus on Mary Ward spirituality. In addition, Rachel is the Volunteer Coordinator for Mary Ward International Australia.


Elena Casciano

B IT (Hons), Dip BA

Elena is a CEO of an SA-based software technology scale up, providing digital student engagement services to Australian Universities. She is an Old Scholar (1988-2000) and holds office of Councilor at Campbelltown City Council. She also serves on the council’s Audit and Governance committee providing oversight of the council’s financial and compliance matters. Elena volunteers as a Director of Rugby Union SA where she is passionate about promoting equal opportunities for women and girls participating in sport.


Kathy Kralj

B.Des St, B.Arch.

Kathy has experience in many areas of architectural practice and is an Associate within a leading Australian national design firm. With 20 years of industry experience in Public, Commercial and Residential Architecture it has provided her with a strong design sensibility and understanding of project budgets and programme. Kathy also sits on the Capital Works Committee where her experience assists with procurement of school upgrades and future projects. Kathy is the mother of a senior school student at the College.


Lincoln Size

B.Bus (HRM), MBA, GAICD, CAHRI

Lincoln is an experienced CEO and board member with over 35 years of leadership across corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He has held CEO roles at Cancer Council SA, Country South SA Medicare Local and currently serves as Vice President, Operations (Australia) at Global Philanthropic. He brings strong expertise in governance, strategy, and stakeholder engagement, with board experience at Ronald McDonald House Charities and Rembrandt Living. Lincoln holds a Master of Administration from the University of Adelaide and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Claire Scapinello

GAICD, MBA

Claire is an experienced executive and board member with a strong background in digital transformation, customer strategy, and organisational leadership. A former CEO of ECH Inc., she has led major change initiatives across the aged care and retirement living sectors. With over two decades of senior leadership experience, Claire has held key roles at organisations including RSL LifeCare, TOGA Group, and the GPT Group. She brings deep expertise in strategic planning, brand and marketing, and stakeholder engagement. Claire holds a Master of Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. As a Loreto College old scholar, Claire is passionate about education and empowering young women through educational excellence.


Lori Hocking

BEc, MEd, GAICD, EdD (in progress)

Lori is an experienced executive leader with a strong background in tertiary and vocational education. She is currently Executive Director of Education Transformation at the University of Adelaide, where she leads strategic initiatives in curriculum reform, digital learning, and educational innovation. Lori has held executive roles across government, tertiary institutions, and national education bodies, including CEO of VETnetwork Australia and Deputy CEO at TasTAFE. She is recognised for her expertise in strategic education reform, policy leadership, and building inclusive education systems that prepare students for the future. With over 20 years in senior roles across government, education, and national organisations, Lori brings deep expertise in policy, governance, and inclusive learning.


Tania Sargent

MBA, GradDipCG, BA (Accty), CA, GAICD, FGIA

Tania is a highly accomplished executive and non-executive director with a strong background in governance, finance, and strategic leadership across the education, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors. She previously served as Director of Corporate Services at Westminster School and has held senior roles including CFO and Company Secretary at Lutheran Laypeople’s League. Her extensive board experience spans community and health sectors, where she has served on finance, risk, and audit committee and is the current Chair to the Governance Institute. Tania is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration.


Gabrielle Canny

LLB

Gabirelle is a veteran legal practitioner with over 40 years in both public and private law. She spent 24 years with the Legal Services commission of South Australia, including 12 years as Director and CEO. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Gabrielle brings strong governance expertise and serves on several legal and governance boards. An old scholar of Loreto College, Gabrielle is committed to contributing to the school community through sound leadership and services.


Luigi Viscariello (COO and Company Secretary)

Ba Comm, CPA, GradDip Applied Finance and Investment

Luigi is a qualified accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in the Healthcare and Government industry in senior finance roles. Luigi is the former Chair of the Finance & Risk Committee where his finance experience complemented the operating team, and the current Chief Operating Officer at Loreto College Marryatville. Luigi has been a past president and treasurer of an Old Collegiate club and continues to have a strong community focus. Luigi is the father of a current student at the College.


Kylie McCullah (Ex Officio)

BA Ed, MA Ed

Kylie is an experienced leader for more than 20 years across both Sydney’s independent and systemic schools’ sectors. Kylie began her teaching career as a technology teacher before quickly moving into pastoral and curriculum-based leadership roles, including Year Coordinator, Head of Department and Director of Studies.  Prior to starting at Loreto College Marryatville, Kylie held the position of Head of Academics (Deputy Headmistress) at St Catherine’s School, Sydney, where she led the academic and wider learning culture for 8 years.

Kylie has presented at several educational conferences, most recently the 2023 International Coalition of Girls’ Schools conference held in Cleveland, USA and has contributed to publications on education topics. Kylie holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education, a Master of Education Educational Leadership, and a Certificate of Gifted Education.

Kylie is passionate about girls’ education and a firm believer that it builds strong character traits including leadership and self-efficacy, which equip young women to enter and contribute to life beyond school with knowledge, skills, confidence, and determination.
